Make sure your running your ram in dual channel mode. You need to have two sticks and match them to the same colour slot on the motherboard. Many people (myself included) have suffered from this problem. Give it a shot.

cheers.

I'm using Geil BlackDragon DIMMs. I have a total of 8GBs. And the memory is quad-channel (2GBx4 QC Kit).

After getting into KDE-4.2.3 for a few minutes at the most, my system just hangs. I know that the system is completely dead, because the clock on my G15 keyboard stops as well. That only happens when the system is completely dead.

The last driver I loaded was the Nvidia proprietary 185.19. I would like to know what could be the cause for this. I'm using the same board as posted here. But I am overclocked to 2.99GHz using a Q9400. The only other change has been my voltage, to 1.3V. So I hope someone can give some advice here.

I've gone back to using my old xorg.conf (which I thankfully backed up!)
