Changing Network Settings in XBMC Freezes ATV & requires Factory Restore
#1
Every time I change a network setting that requires XBMC to restart, it ends up freezing the ATV and requires an unplug.

It also completely renders XBMC useless until a Factory Restore & reinstall. This must definitely be a bug.

As per previous messages - PLEASE provide more information.

Others don't have this problem. I don't have this problem. So, either there is something wrong with your set up or perhaps there are some incompatible versions of software, or some other reason.

Please start by telling us - which version of Apple TV software is installed, which version of the launcher, which version of XBMC. And just to be clear, there is no such version as "Latest" so real numbers, please. Then please explain in more detail, at which point does it hang and what did you change in the settings? Thanks.

First.... Thank you!

Now:
AppleTV OS: 2.3
XBMC Atlantis (bf1)
Launcher 2.3

I got the XBMC remote app for my iPhone today. Went into XBMC to turn on the web server. iPhone connected to XBMC for about 5 secs and then XBMC restarted on its own. Since then I have not been able to get XBMC to start up. When I launcher it, I get the apple icon for 3 sec and then the XBMC logo, I even hear the start up music, but then it appears to freeze. I have tried this several times with the same out come.

looks like CWebServer is crashing on startup. edit guisettings.xml and turn off the webserver.

OK, I got it working again. I think in my attempts to get the iPhone remote working I turned on the HTTP Server. After turning of the webserver didn't work I went back add looked at the settings and that had to be the only other thing. I turned it off and XBMC Launched without issue.

I have to run but tomorrow I will turn the webserver back on and seeing if I get the same error or if I can get the iPhone app to work. I love the aTv, I just want a little more control.

Thanks for the help. With ever error I make I learn a new thing about undoing and changing. With this info I hope to be able to do more and more on my own. So for all your guidance I say thank you, thank you, etc., etc., etc, ...
