Choppy Playback on ATV 2.2

Davilla

I have done some testing

If I play an m4v I can get skiploopfilter 8 and play nicely however XBMC won't be able to play MKV files anymore (audio lag)
On the other hand to play MKV I need to set skiploopfilter at least to 32 otherwise it won't play

So in essence as the setting does not depend on resolution or bitrate I think I will keep the player on XBMC with the settings on 32 so that I can play MKV and use Nito or Boxee to play M4Vs content

I just read another post and realised the issue was tearing so I set the Vertical Blank Sync to on and now it is MUCH better
I still experience some weird scatty frames especially with MKV files but I guess that is because they are high profile HD files pushing the limits of the ATV
