Hi guys
I have a short Q. Is it only on my machine or is skipping forward barley working with mythtv:// protocol? at the beginning of playback it seems to work well but after ~30-40 it stops responding..is it a known issue or something screwed on my machine?
thx in advance

hi thx for the answer!
Yeah i have the problem you are referring to with the skipping usuablle at star and not responsive atll all as the video progresses. i dont think its a cpu issue since the machine is not that old (p4 3.0 Ghz 1.5 GB DDR) and the video is simply mpeg-2.
thx

Perhaps elupus needs to weigh in on this and give his expert opinion on this phenomenon.
I'm not sure it's related to the myth:// protocol. I just played one of the recorded .mpg files directly through XBMC and it too had very noticeable seeking delays (using BigSkipForward set to 210s) after about 30 minutes into the file.
Perhaps us Myth TV users notice it more because we try and skip commercials? Most other things I watch through XBMC don't really have anything that I need to skip over.

Well mpeg's are hard to seek accuratly in and i suspect libavformat (ffmpeg) could be doing alot of unneeded seeks. It could be some of my patches for it have yet again gotten lost in the last upgrade.
