Everything works great in windows, I can browse to my networks shares(on a win2k3 server). But when I try add source under movies on XBMC it can't find any SMB shares it says. And again I test under windows explorer, everything works great, I can browse and play the films.

Any tips? I also tried Add network under xbmc, but with no luck. I entered my username and password and network name under settings, and double checked it.

The problem was it didn't understand names, so I had to enter ip instead, working now

you don't need \\ in front of the computer name

try
smb://htpc:htpc@burton/film instead
