I just updated to the newest Launcher/XBMC on my ATV and now when I FTP into ATV and try to copy new skins over, I get a permissions error. For example, just trying to create a new directory in the Skins directory, I get this:

mkdir /Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/Resources/XBMC/skin/test: permission denied: /Applications/XBMC.app/Contents/Resources/XBMC/skin/test

I did not have this problem before I updated. Any ideas what is happening or how to fix?

It's permission related but don't put stuff under Applications anyway. It just makes it more work when you upgrade. You have a place to copy user added material. For skins:

~/Library/Application Support/XBMC/skin
