I replaced my xbox with a HTPC over 2 months ago and find that I spend most of my time switching away from the nice gui to use one of the ttys.

I'm thinking about attempting to create a terminal emulator to access the console in the same way as konsole and gnome-terminal do in Kde and Gnome. I'm not the best programmer in the world, this is gonna be a learning experience, is anyone willing to mentor/help me?

Looking for the same thing.
I know this post is very old, but no one else has had this idea.
I want an all in one machine. And a terminal emulator addon would be the final thing I need.
