over here in the usa we cant use the "dreambox" but as of june 1st all cable companies must give any customer who asks for it, a cable box with fire wire port.
is there any way to get the dreambox python script to work with these boxes?

no offence but i have to ask; are you a programmer/coder yourself and planning to code this feature for xbmc yourself?, (again no pun intended but i don't think you are and only developers are allowed to post in this dev-forum. (ps! the xbox does not have a ieee 1394 / firewire port).
