Game cache from NAS?
#1
Has anyone written a script which supplies a list of game backups stored on a server, which once clicked, downloads/unrars the file from the NAS (file share) to the local xbox disk and starts it?
Being backups, I don't like storing them on a disk thats not RAID; i'm not a fan of data loss.

Xbox doesn't have near enough RAM to extract an xiso. Not to mention the whole process would be painfully slow. Why not just stick a bigger disk in and keep a copy of the games you're currently interested in extracted on it?

Alas, i'm having trouble getting a SATA to IDE cable installed. Seems I need to reverse the pins on an IDE cable... Most frustrating.
I'm not putting anything less than a terabyte in to my xbox.

Think I may have to write one myself... With a code module for windows to do the extracting.
