I'm having trouble with idx + sub files. When I add them to my subtitle folder it seems to work fine. except when a subtitle has been put into the video it will not go away. I will have a big white pile of subtitles in the bottom of the screen like this:

Any ideas or patches already on this I'm running: XBMC 8.10 SVN:16164

I can provide the sub + idx files for debugging and reproduction.

I think this is a known issue. Searched the forums for it some time ago. From what I remember, any 'text based' subs should work OK. '.sub's don't work (they are being rendered in a different way - merged graphic overlay or smth like that, not sure).

You are lucky to have anything displayed. Most of the stuff with .sub titles I have just make XBMC crash. SRT work fine though.
