I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 and XBMC-VDPAU SVN and I'm having a bit of a problem:

Whenever I select Exit XBMC or Reboot inside XBMC it freezes.

Please see the sticky about posting problems in a useful manner. We need stack traces when a crash occurs. If xbmc is frozen you can generate a core file by doing "killall -SEGV xbmc.bin" in a terminal.

UPDATE:

Actually, that command (killall -SEGV xbmc.bin) isn't doing anything (eg. the process stays alive), but I do have some more information:

Everything in XBMC works fine until I resume from a suspend (S3). After I resume, XBMC freezes when trying to exit it, or tell it to reboot, or change skins. It also freezes a second or two after I start playing a video or doing almost anything.

If I switch to a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1) and do "ps axu | grep xbmc.bin", the CPU usage for xbmc.bin slowly climbs until it maxxes out at 100%. The ram stays around 5% though.

I've also tried "sudo killall -SEGV xbmc.bin" and it doesn't work either. (eg. the process stays alive) However, "kill -9 <pid>" works but doesn't generate a core file.

By the way, I'm using XBMC-VDPAU with this build information: XBMC PRE-9.04 SVN:18172

I've tried the linuxport trunk SVN a couple of nights ago and I had the same problem unfortunately.

I'd blame Ubuntu, but only XBMC freezes when I resume. (eg. I can Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get into a terminal and everything works just fine)
