If anyone is interested I've made some changes to the default WiiRemote configuration in the Keymap.xml file that make the buttons behave more like the button setup on the original XBox DVD remote control.

Note that this is for the system keymap rather than the what seems to be older Keymap.xml approach.

I compile and install each time so not sure how to apply this to a running system.
