tv out problem, please help, intel drivers?

well i have posted this topic in the xbmclive section but have not received any help recently. since this is more of a linux problem i am gonna hope someone here knows. I have followed the help from NismoC32 on this thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=43024&page=2

My problem is that when i hook my system to the tv i get a picture that scrolls or flickers once it gets to the main dashboard screen. I have tried all the resolutions configurations i can all lead to the same result. it is an intel board with the GMA950 graphics on board. I am attempting to connect to the tv via the s-video connection on my mobo.

while working on it after i got the image up on the tv screen to do its dance, i was able to navigate to the cml, from there i brought up the xorg.log i noticed that it mentioned that all those added Options such as "TVStandard" all failed to load. Also from what i could make out the graphics drivers are version 1.7.4

also whenever i make a new xorg.conf file, i have tried many, upon boot up after the loading screen but before the dashboard it seems to load drivers, or something comes up like a log, then it tries to initiate "800x600" and "640x480" both fail, then it says "screen initialization failed." then i get the dancing dashboard image on the tv.

i am at a loss here, seems like since i am getting an image on the tv, albeit a bad one, that it is something driver related, especially since, from what i can make of it, it is such an old driver. I have found new ones at these two links:
http://intellinuxgraphics.org/index.html
and
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepi....1-1ubuntu10.3

But i have no clue how to get those incorporated with the live install on my harddrive? Everything i have read talks about ati and nvidia. Please need help! I feel like i am at a dead end now with this driver issue. I am learning linux as i go...

Also do any of those Options that NismoC32 suggested in the thread above work specifically for nvidia/ are there intel versions of those commands that i need? as you can all tell i am new to linux...

What I have done is install Mythbuntu, a variant of Ubuntu. It's pretty stripped down and includes only what's needed for MythTV to work. The alpha5 was just released and it has the latest latest drivers from Intel in there so you don't have to worry about trying to install them. I'm about to wipe my system out this weekend and start over with alpha5 myself. This should help you get back on track. Mythbuntu is slightly different from XBMC Live, but at the core it's still ubuntu and you can do all of the same things you'd do with the Live installed on an HDD.

Actually alpha6.1 is the latest and i'll be installing THAT this weekend. Should be fun.
