Uninstalling and installing a new build
#1
Hi

I was going to uninstall 8.10 completely (user files too since ive only bee using it 3 days), and install the latest SVN build with Mediatream 1.0 skin.

For future purposes, since uninstalling the current version before installing a newer version is recommended, what must be backed up to keep the database and catalog intact?

1. Export all information to their respective folders and delete everything, except advancedsettings.xml, and install the new one, with the new version hopefully picking everything back up when scraping locally or importing

or

2. Save your \Users\abba77\AppData\Roaming folder somewhere else, uninstall everything, then install new one and copy back, overwriting any new files with the saved files, folders? (One thing im wondering about compatibility)

Thanks.

A new install shouldn't touch your userdata at all. For safety, copy out the Roaming/XBMC folder.
