Possible to stream iTunes to win-XBMC?
#1
Hello... I'm now buying/building a HTPC, which will solely be used for XBMC (and maybe some games launched from XMBC)

My main computer is a Mac, and has a massive iTunes library... is it possible to stream my iTunes library to a windows XBMC?

If not, I'm going to build it as a hackintosh instead... gotta have my iTunes on my HTPC!

XBMC can map to DAAP sources but I don't think it works for the latest iTunes versions. You might need version 6 or earlier to get it to work:

There's also a open-source media streaming server called FireFly that can read your iTunes library (including playlists) and stream it to XBMC in UPnP. Not sure if they have a version for Mac.

The easiest, however, would be to map your Mac music folder on your win machine and have XBMC scan your music in its library. The only thing you'll lose are iTunes playlists but you can easily re-create then directly in XBMC...
