Replace generic remote with harmony
#1
Hey all,

I have this generic remote i bought of ebay which I'm using for controlling my computer. The remote does a great job, smooth at moving through everything, even has a (primitive) mouse built in. The device simply emulates windows keypresses so i was able to wire it into XBMC using eventghost fairly easily.

My issue is that i'd like to replace it with my logitech harmony 525. I can program in everything by learning the codes, i can fairly easily represent everything in the Harmony. My problem is that repeat keypresses don't seemm to work so well in that it takes a second or two to do a repeat that would have been instant on the generic remote. I've looked through all the settings that come with the harmony, i have the repeat rates etc as low as possible so that's not it.

It's almost as though the repeat command on the generic remote is something different to the original? Does anyone have a way around this at all?

Alternatively, does anyone have a remote and usb sensor that will integrate into the logitech harmony that they can recommend?

Try to use eventghost to repeat rates.

There's no USB sensor for Logitech Harmony, because this remote do not have own remote codes. It can only learn other codes.
