Hi. I'm running Windows 7 x64 with ATI Radeo 3450. Upon first install, I would get a error about missing msvcr71.dll. I installed latest video drivers, didn't help. I downloaded the .dll and placed in the system folder. Now when I run xbmc, the window opens but immediately exits and windows reports that it has stopped running. I have tried both the stable release and the latest svn build. What should I try next? Here is my log file

Right now you are running OpenGL 1.1.0. You are going to want to get that up to 2.0.

What method did you use to update your drivers? It's possible that the drivers provided through MS Update don't have the necessary resources.

Have you tried downloading directly from the ATI website? If no Windows 7 drivers, exist, you should be fine using Vista drivers.

I'm using the windows driver because I can't get the ATI driver to work. It installs without any error, but doesn't do anything and doesn't show up in the device manager.

Regrettably, this is the point at which xbmc tech support comes to an end. You have to figure out how to install the ATI driver that comes from ATI's website. Until you do, you will not have a working copy of OpenGL 2.0 and will, therefore, be unable to run XBMC.

Visit the ATI forum. Try to uninstall the Windows driver before installing the ATI driver.
