[LINUX] HOW-TO get lirc and irexec to work with suspend and autostart
#1
Thumbs Up
and then some questions. The irexec does not seem to work correctly when autostarted with SESSIONS?

I finally got it to work with a workaround. Barely, it needs some cleaning up.

Please see post
http://vikjonlinuxhowto.blogspot.com/200...-xbmc.html
for details.
Let me know if this is helpful and I will re-write it as a real guide.

The problem I had was that sudo shutdown -h now did not bite when irexec was autostarted with SESSIONS. (but worked fine when manually started)
To get it do work I had to use %admin ALL=NOPASSWD: ALL
instead of youruser ALL=NOPASSWD: /sbin/shutdown

Anyone that have another solution?

//Thanks

Nothing like digging up an ancient thread, however, this was one of the first threads that popped up for me when trying to solve this problem myself, so in the interest of helping future Googlers find another solution, below is a link to my blog where I explain how I finally got this all working.

Using and Autostarting irexec

Vikjon - you may have since found another way to do it, but if not, please let me know if this solves the problem you were originally having.

Is this a fix for the Suspend?autostart issue? I have the that Suspend works the first time after boot, but any following suspends autoresume instantly sometimes causing the remote to stop working as well. I've yet to find a solution.
