Hi --
I'm new to the whole media center thing and wanted to give XBMC a try without too much overhead. Based on reading the XBMC Live wiki pages it seemed like I should be able to download XBMC_Live-8.10.2b1, press a CD from the ISO, and boot from the CD to kick the tires.
Everything goes fine until the end of the boot cycle, at which point I'm given a terminal screen with:
Typing in the xbmc u/p gives me, as expected, some sort of shell prompt, but no clue how to start up the media server itself.
I'm a complete Newbie here so I may have missed something totally obvious (e.g. the PC needs to be hooked up to an HD TV for this to work or some such). FWIW, I'm booting to a Dell w 1.5GB RAM that normally runs XP, and has a large 19" Dell 1901FP monitor.
Any guidance to help me debug further?
Thanks!
Ramon
