I have a 1080i HDTV (Hitachi 57F59A). When I start XBMC fullscreen, the TV mode switches like it's just lost input. I had to run XBMC windowed (at 1280x720) to get in and change settings and every option in the screen settings that took it fullscreen, resulted in no input from the TV. The fullscreen options were: Auto, 1920x1080@30Hz, [email protected], and 1080i 16:9.
Here's the debug log, but I doubt it's much help because XBMC still appeared to be working normally when I would change to a fullscreen resolution, I just couldn't see anything on my TV to confirm settings so it would time out and revert back to 720p.

I'm using a version of XBMC I downloaded from the pinned thread just this morning (SVN 19855) but it was also doing it on a version from a few weeks back (SVN 19301).
I can however run XBMC fullscreen at 720p. To do that, I just start it windowed and it comes up 720p, I hit \ in XBMC and my TV detects a change to 720p input and everything seems to be working... just no luck at 1080i.
The Windows Vista (SP1, 32bit) desktop runs on the TV at 1920x1080@30Hz and it works great... along with other apps besides XBMC that I use to play video (Vista Media Center, MPC-HC). CPU is an E8400, 4GB of RAM, Nvidia 9500GT video card with v182.50 drivers.
I also have the option in the windows control panel to switch the desktop resolution to 1920x1080@29Hz. That worked fine in windows, but XBMC had the same issue fullscreen (regardless of setting it to 1920x1080@29 or 30hz).
