Well, DTS CD's now will play without hearing the sound of DTS data; however, xbmc is not passing the DTS signal directly to the receiver as it does for video.
So my guess is software decoding of some sort?
Unless I am doing something wrong.
Has anyone else tested this?

Stupid question: have you tried playing it using DVDplayer instead of the default PAPlayer?

Yeah... dvdplayer is the default player for cd audio.
DTS CDs are not too popular. I can get audio passthrough with other players but an all in one solution would be nice.

I get stereo downmixed PCM using the default player. If I change to the other player, I get noise, also in PCM.
Stereo is better than noise, but still kind of defeats the point of a 5.1 CD.

In fact, DVDplayer can't play DTS-CD, you'll get noise. PAPlayer can play DTS-CD, but not in DTS5.1, It change to stereo. It's not perfect.

My DVD-Player play fine the DTS-CD, but the XBMC not too. XBMC read the DTS-CD but not send the code DTS to the amplifier, but only stereo.
