Hello all,
I'm relatively new here. I'm trying to get my project off the ground. At this point I'm deciding on hardware. I do have a few questions.
Are there any advantages to having a gpu on the mother board versus on a card? Does it making getting audio over HDMI any easier or harder?
Thanks in advance everyone.

Best get a stand alone card.
1. Onboard chipsets are often crap, even when they're nvidia/ati.
2. Shared non optimized RAM.
3. Possibility to overheat more easily.
4. When you decide to upgrade you're just going to have to replace the board or get a stand alone card anyway.

Thanks for the quick response peeps.
Until now I was going to go with onboard video but now I'm contemplating the stand alone option. Can anyone suggest a good mother board that doesn't have a gpu integrated? To this point I was considering the Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H. Cost isn't the primary driver for me, audio/video quality is my primary concern.
