I used a tool called "ntfs-config" to easily mount my NTFS partition and its working fine. In case anyone reads this and wants to reproduce:
1. Open a terminal window in XBMCbuntu
2. Type "sudo apt-get ntfs-config"
3. Type "ntfs-config"
4. Press the "auto configure" button
