Hi guys,
Since the xbmc is running at my parents in law's house which is ~15,000 miles away, I'd like to buy the most compatible remote as diagnosing any IR issue remotely is pretty hard...

I managed to find what I believe to be an original Microsoft remote controller, is this is indeed the right one that should be completely compatible with xbmc and give me the least headache possible? -

Seems like an OEM (Dell?) RC6 to me, but I could be wrong....

That's the one I have. I don't use the IR receiver, but instead use the one in my Antec Fusion case. The remote is great, and far better than the POS that came with my Fusion.

How easy was it to configure it? I mean - I don't mind following instructions, I just don't want any complications that will require me to call my father in law and provide him with tech support over the phone for this...

From what I read it is mostly the receiver that needs to be compatible, right? did you ever try this receiver or did you just work with the one you had?
