hdmi video output on DFI JR GF9400?
#1
hi all,

I'm trying to set up xbmc 9.04.1 for a friend on a DFI 9400m motherboar using VDPAU on ubuntu 9.04. One of the immediate problem we've encountered is the "o" key crashes the xbmc regardless the rendering method we choose. We do believe the VDPAU is working as we have been observing very smooth video playback on 1080p video files, but whenever the "o" button is pressed, xbmc crashes right away.

The second problem is regarding setting up the motherboard with dual display. With the DFI motherboard, there is a DVI and a HDMI putput. The DVI is connected to a regular 22" monitor and is working fine. The HDMI is connected to a Sayno 720p projector. The problems we are encountering are:

1) nvidia-settings can NEVER saves the configuration file back to /etc/X11/xorg.conf, even with "sudo nvidia-settings". I think it is more of an ubuntu problem than xbmc as this has been discussed many times on ubuntu forums.

2) even assuming we are able to generate a proper xorg.conf for both the monitor and the projector, is there a way to force xbmc to be display over the HDMI/projector instead of the DVI/monitor?

any tips on these issues are very much appreciated,
