I haven't gone back and re-tested for hang-on-exit, but I certainly had the 'audio only on first playback' with AC3 audio as well as DTS - my logs are a few posts back.

Haven't had either problem since nailing the output to 'Built-In Output' as opposed to 'Default' and disabling GUI sounds.

I can test everything again with AC3 or MP3 audio (out via optical) if you like, after re-enabling GUI sounds and/or setting the output back to 'Default'

I had the problem last night. It was after a DTS movie, and then an attempt to play some stuff with multichannel AAC. No audio, until XBMC was shutdown and restarted.

GUI sounds are disabled (or just not present - I'm using a Mediastream variant) and Built In Output is the only option (Mac Mini, digital out).

Will try and get it reproducible tonight.

Cheers,
Jonathan

I'm using latest SVN.

XBMC hangs after playing a DTS movie.

I have disabled GUI sounds in Appereance in Settings.

I have Built-In Output selected (I have always used that).

Any ideas?

Any news on this?

I'm experiencing many hangs now, when stopping a movie.

I have to ssh to the machine and kill -9 XBMC to make it quit.

Both with DTS and DD audio movies.

I have the hangs when I try to play a 5.1 video the second time rather than stopping it.

Hmm, seems like it can't release the soundcard or somehting.

I wish some devs could chip in with solutions!

It's really the only issues I have, everything else works great Smile

You best post some version info or risk not getting any help, this thread is really old.

Hi guys,

I am having much the same issue as above. With a few little differences.

Software:
Clean Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (7600)
XBMC 9.04.1

Hardware:
CPU: Core2 DUO 2.93Ghz
RAM: 4GB
VIDEO/AUDIO (HDMI): ATI 4890 1GB
Receiver: SONY HTDDW7500

Log: http://pastebin.com/f183d0b4d

I'm sorry for posting a log of the whole session, but I have no idea what may or may not be useful.

I start a bluray rip with digital audio selected, the error occurs that the audio is not initialised. After I toggle digital<=>analogue acouple times the analogue channel starts playing.

Also, the audio works normally in media player.

I'm having the same issue. Not just related to DTS, AC3 as well. Most of the time that I notice it is from a pause. But it has the same symptoms in that there are no gui sounds and I have to ssh in and kill the process.

2 GHz Mac Mini with Invidia 9400M video.
Nightly build as of 9/26/09

I'm not sure how else I can contribute, but will do what I can.
