After installing new versions mkv crash XBMC
#1
Well a few days I uninstalled my version 8 and deleted the user preferences and then installed 9.04 repack or whatever the newest version is.

Now everytime I want to watch a mkv file XBMC just crashes, I have to close it via the taskmanager. Before with Version 8 everything was fine.
And all other formats play fine as well. The same files that worked before now don't work anymore.

Is this like a known problem?

I'm using Vista 32 Bit SP2 and Geforce 9400 Mainboard with onBoard Graphics and Intel CPU.

and please download repack2 as repack doesn't contain all needed files.

Ok, I don't know yet how to get to the debug log, but I will look into it.
But since there is already a repack2 I will try this first

Thanks

putting xbmc in portable mode solves it

I don't understand how portable mode would prevent XBMC from crashing when playing an mkv file. I have to think that situation means there's another issue.

Also, to post a log, simply visit this page and learn how.
