[LIVE] Using File Manager?
#1
I have a problem with the File Manager.

I'm trying to copy a log file FROM a folder TO a usb Memory Stick but all I get is an error.

"Copy failed. Failed to copy at least one file. Operation was aborted"

Wrong privileges? Huh

XBMC doesn't mount removable drives with write permissions, mainly because we didn't have unmount / safe removal before so mounting read only makes it ok to just yank the drive without harming the data.

We still haven't added read write to the mount as of yet.

However, if you have XBMC Live on a removable drive you can just pop that drive into another computer running windows, linux or os x and the log should be in dotXBMC folder.

Cheers,
Tobias.

Well, I am one of those (rare?) who installed it on a harddrive. Rolleyes

So is there any other (easy?) way to copy those files without going into console? And if console, what do I write? Huh

Best and easiest way IMHO is to install filezilla on your desktop PC (open source software).

And point it to your HTPC's IP and with port 22. Login and password you choosed on installation iirc.

On Removable installation it's
user: xbmc
password: xbmc

So if you didn't choose username xbmc is your best bet.

The log is in /home/USERNAME/.xbmc/temp (Think you knew that though.)

Hopefully someone will get around to add mount read write until babylon+1

Cheers,
Tobias
