Media flagging

I'm currently running Transparency v2.7 with XBMC v21439 on a Windows HTPC but the media flags do not show up in file mode. The nfo's are created with Ember Media Manager r626.

Is this feature only supported in library mode?

An example of a recent nfo file for the movie Yes Man

Are all tags present and compatible with Transparency?

"a_ac3" should be "ac3" (fixed that for next release of EMM), but other than that, it looks like it should work. So maybe you're on to something with "only supported in library mode"... since you're using NFOs anyway, why not enable the library and give it a try?

like nul7 suggested, media flagging is only supported by xbmc in library mode.
it depends on having the media data in the video database.

in filemode, this info is not available to the skin.

Hello everyone,

I have certain HD-rips on my HDD and would like to see some kind of HD-Flag and Studio-Flag but there is just the DVD-Flag and some kind of TV-Logo (looks like a frame)

Is it possible to change/add certain flags to a movie?

BTW what a f... great skin!!!! (Thanks to ronie)

Regards

Oliver

that's weird, it shouldn't display a dvd flag for HD rips.
the 'frame' you're talking about could be the indication i'm using if a trailer for that movie is present.

there's no need to add flags to movies yourself, the code in xbmc and the skin should do this for you automatically.

but if it works depends on the xbmc version you are using (you need r21076 or up).
it will also work with older versions of xbmc, but only if you've been using one of the media managers to create .nfo files, which put the necessary info in the <studio> tag.

Transparency!-v0.27 comes with some 350 different studio logo's, so chances are the one there's no studio flag present for several (a lot) movies.

the next release will have almost 1100 studio flags, which should give a lot more 'hits'.

so most likely your xbmc version is too old for native media flagging support (just update to the latest development version for your platform),
or you haven't enabled media flagging support (Settings > Videos > General > Extract media metadata information).
after updating xbmc and/or enabling this option, you'll have to delete your video database and rescan all your movie to the library.

Solved, just updatet to r21076 and everything is working proper, thanks!!!!

Upps, that was not correct: I now can see logos ike 720 16:9 H264 DolbyDigital DTS BluRay Trailer and something like CC but still no studio logos.

Do I have to use a certain scraperHuh Mostly I use MovieMaze ( while I'm german) an OFDB or do I have to Rename my movies? My TV-Series like "The War At Home" and "Pushing Daisies" were shown with a "FOX"-Logo.

I don't think that there's no studio information for SinCity or Rocky Balboa!?

Any idea would be nice!!!

the CC logo (Closed Captioning) means there are subtitles available for the movie.
i don't think MovieMaze and OFDB have the studio info on their site, so it won't work with those scrapers.

if you use the IMDB or themoviedb scraper, it should be fine.

Hello ronie,

thanks for your answer. OFDB works for most movies. Could not test all my movies now because they're on my home server.

Many Thanks

well, yes i would be possible. but i'd be way too much work to change it, at least for me.
you'd have to change the position and size of the case in every view and info window, to make it properly fit the cover.
besides showing a BluRay case for DVD's wouldn't make much sense, so you'll have to define two cases and make the skin display the correct one, based on the source of the movie.
