I installed the latest version of XBMC on my Xbox, deleted the database and then initiated a scan of my movie VOBs using the folders as the titles. The result is that they all come back with the same title 'Magic Movies'. What am I doing wrong?

Please read the sticky about reporting a problem in a useful manner. A debug logfile from the scanning run would be helpful here.

do you have a .nfo file in that directory that is for "Magic Movies"? If so, I'm guessing it's called movie.nfo or something similar. Get rid of that file and try again. If it doesn't work, upload a debug log of you trying to scan your library. look in my signature for more details on that.
When posting about a problem please submit a
debug log to give you the best chance at getting an answer. It's easy, painless, and helps provide necessary information.
