Sometimes the remote works sometimes not.

When the remote isnt working, there is no entry when i do:

Then i unplug it and reconnect the USB IR and get

Then the remote is working in xbmc.

Any ideas what could be the problem (seems to be an linux issue not an xbmc), because its a bit annoying testing the remote every time and having to reconnect the IR.

Try a different usb port.

Everytime it happens i connect it to an other port, hoping that the problem vanishes, but hasn't worked yet

Have you searched in the Remote Control vendors forum if someone else on Linux have the same problems, or on Google?

What kind of remote is it, and what distro are you running?

I'm using the TTS35AI


And my distribution is Ubuntu 2.6.28.13.

Maybe the is a solution that i add the IR with some kind of script after booting or something can be done with modprobe or something like that.

Sadly havent enough linux experience for that.
