Hi All,
I'm running XMBC 9.04.1 r20763M on Arch Linux. Most media types that I try and playback I either get no sound (mp3s) or if it's video a flickering green box instead of a picture. Is this just XMBC not supporting the media type, or, am I doing something wrong?
As an example:
file.mkv: Matroska data
The above plays fine, I get fullscreen video and Dolby Digital to my amp (passthrough) via SP/DIF
file.720p.hdtv.xvid.avi: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 624 x 352, 23.98 fps, video: XviD, audio: MPEG-1 Layer 3 (stereo, 48000 Hz)
The above gives a green flickering rectangle and no sound.
file.iso: UDF filesystem data
The above gives a fullscreen green flickering mess but with dolby surround (PL not DD / DTS)
The information about the files was obtained from running linux 'File' command.
The green box has some nonsensical text:
DurhatedKgo71532x m,UnilpsL89'bc- etc etc
Any pointers. The system will use mplayer fine to playback mp3 via the AMP, I just get silence when trying to use XMBC.
Many Thanks
Andrew
