New TV Show episode content not loading?
#1
Question
When ever I add new episodes XBMC does not add them and I have to use a media manager to create NFO files to make it work.

First ran "Check for new content" with the series highlighted, then "Update Library"

Here is an example - I added new episode //WHS/TV Shows/In Plain Sight/Season 2/In.Plain.Sight.S02E13.HDTV.XviD-XII.avi

Here is a pastebin of my "tvshow.nfo" for this particular show

Edit: New Pastebin full log, and "tvshow.nfo" info

Perhaps the scraper you are using is not up to date.

XMBC is set to use thetvdb.com, which is the same scrapper I use with a external program to create the NFOs.

This is not a full debug log and thus any dev is very likely to ignore it.
But thanks to one that did offer insight, he speculated that your tvshow.nfo was missing the <episodeguideurl> tags:

Thnx Sho - I did have the episodeguideurl tags, but ran a re-update to the NFOs just in case but with no change.

I have updated my logs and added my NFO log

issue seems to be it can't list those dirs of yours - no video files found -> no fun.

Any ideas what I can do? What causes this? Should I do a reinstall, if so is there a particular build I should use?

I mean, I can navigate to the share in XBMC, create the shares etc... And have no issue playing them once they are added.

I can continue to use a media manager (Media Info Plus) to create NFO files, but honestly this is way to time consuming and just plain inconvenient.

Edit - I removed XBMC, databases (all traces), reinstalled same issue.

Permissions, just a vague idea

As a test I created a folder locally on the same PC that XBMC is on, ran manual scan and XBMC does not add the episode; and only will if there is a episode NFO. I also tried running XBMC as admin.

With creating the TVShow locally and still getting the same result, I have to think that permissions is not the cause.

Any other ideas?

Unset content on all folders while keeping the library entries, clean database in video settings to invalidate all paths and try again.

Same result... But I did find that if I add a completely new show with NO NFO files, XBMC will detect them and add to the library; but as soon as I add a tvshow NFO it stops working.
