audio problems

Hi there.

Im using Ubuntu 9.04 with the latest svn builds.
Yesterday I got a problem with my sound. In some movies the sound wont play, however it worked perfect the day before. Everything works in Ubuntu though. Ive removed the .xbmc folder, Ive tried sudo apt-get install --reinstall xbmc. I can listen to music, but still no sound in movies or tv-show.

havn't tried to run from terminal to se the output.

is there any changes in current svn build that iḿ not aware of?

Hi,
please see the troubleshooting link in my sig for a how-to on reporting a problem in a useful manner, we need a debug log to be able to help you without guessing.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

I ran into exactly the same problem with SVN 22290, today I rolled back to 22278 and its all working fine again.

I didn't do any real testing, since it occurred after I updated to the latest SVN, I just accepted that's the price you pay for being bleeding edge.

akawaz, how do you roll back to older svn versions?
Do you use the SVN PPA?

Yes, I do use the SVN PPA at https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc-svn.

I apt-get remove'd my xbmc and xbmc-common.

I downloaded the previous jaunty xbmc SVN from the archive at launchpad:

https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc-svn/+ar...ter=jaunty

... and did a dpkg -i of each of the packages.

Ugly I know, but I wasn't able to roll back using:

apt-get install xbmc=9.04.2+svn22278-jaunty1

same here, but not only at the bleeding version.
XBMC stopped servicing audio on any 1080P DTS or what. :-(

rolling back to 22278 worked for me as well.

does anyone know how to rollback a bit more user friendly than akawoz described?

I downgraded to 41.1(instead of 41.2), it is fine now

apt-get install xbmc-common=9.04.1-jaunty1
apt-get install xbmc-skin-pm3-hd=9.04.1-jaunty1
apt-get install xbmc-web-pm3=9.04.1-jaunty1
apt-get install xbmc=9.04.1-jaunty1

http://sshcs.com/xbmc/ this has svn builds that aren't in the ppa.

download and unzip the package

apt-get remove "xbmc*" and then dpkg -i xbmc*.deb that you download. should get everything back to working.
