Basic questions about ATV/XBMC (USB-Related)
#1
Question
Due to the recent price drop with ATV, I'll be buying one, but I have some questions before my purchase...

When attaching a USB HDD to it are there any limitations?

*FAT32 instead of NTSC
*HDD Size limit (8GB or 2TB, etc)
*Read-Only (Not Read/Write)

I would imagine it depends on how you install XBMC on ATV (Via Linux/OSX?)

If anyone could be kind of enough and answer these basic questions I would very much apreciate it Smile

I assume you mean NTFS (a windows file system) and not NTSC (a video format). FAT32 has a 2GB file size limit. NTFS does not but is read-only under OSX.

lol Thanks Davilla! Ya I meant NTSF :p

As far as my question... Is ATV limited to any of them?
Can I use a 2TB HDD (FAT32 or NTSF) with ATV?
Can you install Linux on ATV and use that as the backend instead of OSX? Is this suggested?

Thanks again Davilla Tongue
