Specs as follows:
AsRock Ion 330 - Bios 1.50
Ubuntu - Full Jaunty 9.04 - Kernel 2.6.29-02062906
XBMC - SVN 22528
Skin - PM3HD (or any other)

Basically when playing any .mkv file, after about 4-5 mins XBMC hangs - this is over SMB to Windows 7. I can Alt-Tab back to desktop, have killed XBMC, but if i restart it it will hang before I even start a file - then I can't do anything but switch the whole machine off!
It doesn't seem to do it if playing a normal avi file.
Driving me mad trying to work it out - I've searched but couldn't see anything similar. Let me know if I've missed any info out.
