Windows 7 & installing in 'portable mode'
#1
I tried installing in "Portable Mode" with Windows 7 but it still seems to use the 'User' hidden profile folder?

Anyone else have this problem?

thx

Make sure your XBMC is in a non user area.... (NOT in program files, or on your desktop).... say somewhere like C:\XBMC

only ever run XBMC with the -p command link switch (this makes XBMC run in portable user data mode, where the user data will be stored under the XBMC folder)

If you just click on XBMC.exe... it will NOT run in portable mode by default, so create a shortcut and add the -p switch

Right... thx, I totally forgot about the -p I had been running so long without a reinstall.

Guess the devs made an oversight that installing it in "Portable Mode" does not install the shortcut using -p

Add a ticket about this if the installer does not create a shortcut with -p.
