Ftp'ing In Xbmc, Username = None (1/1)
#1
I apologize for this being one of my first posts and all, but I'd like to see if anyone else has had this problem... I'm having trouble FTP'ing to my Xbox through XBMC. The problem is that my username is None (1/1), and setting up my IP, etc manually does not work. First things first, my Xbox is softmodded, I'm not quite sure what version it is... and FTP works in EvolutionX.
There is a build that works for me, XBMC-2.0.1-FINAL-FAT-T3CH, HOWEVER, this version doesn't play nice with the skin of my choice. (This is why it doesn't work.) With this version I can just use the default dashboard setting and it works. It shows my Username as Xbox or test.

The build I'm using is the absolute latest from T3CH, XBMC-SVN_2009-09-27_rev23183-T3CH. This version plays nice with the Aeon Xbox skin that I want to use.

Of course I've looked around and seen tons of threads with the issue. The common solution is that my Filezilla Server.xml file corrupted. However, this doesn't seem to be my problem, because if I copy the Filezilla Server.xml file from the working FAT-T3CH build, it still doesn't work.

Things I've tried:

-Deleting Filezilla Server.xml file from latest build, and replacing with working Filezilla Server.xml from FAT-T3CH build.
-Deleting 000face or whatever files from UDATA and TDATA.
-Trying a shit ton of stable and older builds from T3CH and the usual places. And then replacing the Filezilla Server.xml files in those.
-Deleting XBMC and recopying, multiple times.
-Deleting XBMC files from the Microsoft Dashboard.
-Chewing off my own foot.

Thanks for the help in advance, I hope the answer (if I can find one) is a stupid and obvious one.. Haha.
debug log

Hey donhonk -- I'm not an expert but from your pasted debug log it looks like your network / ethernet is simply not up and running. Also I find it odd that it is setting up at half-duplex. Something about the network is bad and I bet that's causing Filezilla to stop (says so right hereSmile

Be sure to get a stable network connection running first. Ping the xbox before ftp'ing it to be sure it's active on the net.

FYI here's my log when networking is healthy:

Why not use DHCP? Have you been able to ping the xbox?

God I'm dumb, DHCP works just fine. I don't know why I didn't try it! Thanks so much. Haha.

usually the reason you would not have access to the xbox xbox account is because XBMC is in debug mode.

Ummm.. WHAT?

Yeah, when you put the xbox into debug mode by pushing XY it allows TEST account only. Dunno if it's a bug. I only can access my C drive when I do that.
