I had a few problem over the past few days and I thought its worth me contributing my experience and if suitable to attach it to the already very helpful "unofficial FAQ". It will be short and concise
1. Auriga is not complete so there will be bugs and inconsistent performance. Some user have reported downloading from github either from the site or msysgit may be incomplete leaving your with various features missing. For example, no multiplex or singles support in music
2. The best option would be to upgrade to one of the mods, in which case this wikipedia page provides information about their differences. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeon_(Project)
3. Always make sure you have the most up to date XBMC, and if there is uncertainty if the XBMC latest build if unstable then revert back to rev 22516
