[ATV] Video and Audio not sync
#1
Hello,

I use ATV 2.4 with SVN XBMC last build 23842. My skin is MediaStream.

Now I have a issue when I play a movie (avi). Video is not always syncronized with audio and it seems that the movie sometimes plays at different speed maybe (stumble) waiting the audio to sync.

If I play the same video under SVN XBMC build 23675 everything is OK.

The same issue are in the SVN Build's #23718, #23756, #23799, #23807 the movies are stumble if I play this on the atv. The audio and video isn't sync.

Hope the Logfiles can help to fix this bug.

with issue = SVN23842_xbmc.log http://pastebin.com/m2739702c
without issue = SVN23675_xbmc.log http://pastebin.com/m4cb93de

Thanks for the help.

avi's are playing fine for me (my sample set), I'll need a 50-100 MByte saplce of this to debug. Also any clue why your "with issue" log is filled with "WARNING: Trying to access old style dir: " messages ?

Let's see, not running on atv and no logs provided. Please start a new thread and let's not hi-jack this one.

Hello davilla,

I can try to make a sample debug file, let me know if it is that what you need.

I have searched the file "guisetting.xml" and have there deleted all old skin entry. I will see, maybe this is the reason for that message "WARNING: Trying to access old style dir: ".

yes, that is what I need, something that shows the problem so I can use it to reproduce the issue. Once I can reproduce what you see, then I can track it down and fix it.

Hi again,

here now an other Logfile: http://pastebin.com/m2c7f8345

I hope that can help to fix the issue.

The problem appears only with AVI files. It is independent of Movie, with high-resolution files 720p and tone AC3 almost nothing at all works. The audio crashed in this case.

AVI-Files with normal resolution become only unsyncron audio.

For my understanding or feeling, there is a problem with decode from AVI files (Xvid).

All other movies (e.g mkv, asf, mov, mpg) are working fine. Audio and movie are sync.

The problem appeared the first spot with the change of Build #23675 to the Build #23718. What was changed there?

If I change back to Build #23675 all is fine again.

Thanks and let me know if you need more informations.

Now more Information:

Build #23675; If I play an AVI-File (XviD) the CPU-Usage in this case are 20-50%; < 50% if I play Xvid 720p and AC3/DTS
Build #23842; If I play an AVI-File (XviD) the CPU-Usage in this case are 85-95%; ever if play a Xvid Movie.

The only change relating to ffmpeg is http://trac.xbmc.org/changeset/23716

I have the same problem on ATV, it is here.

@davilla

should I upload one of the files I have a problem with and PM you the link?

Someone needs to upload a sample avi file somewhere so I can try to reproduce the problem. Until I can reproduce the problem, I can't fix it.
