Speed/Usability:replace AppleTV OS 10.4 with Snowleopard ?
#1
Is it worth in terms of speed and/or usability to replace the default Apple TV os 10.4 with Snowleopard.

What would be gained as a system which is not restricted in any way once setup correctly.

However, with 256 MB of RAM is it wise to replace the default cutdown OS with a full blown SL OS?

Perhaps strip SL of Spotlight and other useless stuff ?

Any thoughts on this ?

It has been done with Leopard(10.5) but performance was/is poor. Not enough RAM and the 1Ghz chip is just not fast enough.

not to mention that you have to install "Hackintosh" version of Leopard for it to work.
