Would it be possible to have the ability to set the number of items to jump for 'Page Up' and 'Page Down' in the skin?

At the moment with Alaska we have an item loaded off screen to the left and right so they show immediately the moment you start scrolling. This makes it look a whole lot better than the slight wait for the image to load if it wasn't off screen, and also triggers the preloaditems/background loading of the next items.
The problem then arises when you want to Page Up or Down, or use the scrollbar, because those items get missed out.

So would a jump/page/scroll items control be possible?

The preloading is supposed to handle that for you. If <preloaditems> is set to 2 then it'll load one item either side of the list.

But aren't they dumped from memory after a couple of seconds?
