How to play media in directory
#1
Hi,
I have one question regarding the XBMC (I am running 9.11, but it is not depending on the version). How to play all media in the selected directory? Currently I am using the context menu and the Play item, but it would be better, if I can just press the Play button on my remote and it will invoke the same action. Does anybode have any idea how to do this using the keymaps/keyboard.xml file or the Lircmap.xml file?

Thank you
Honzas

highlight the folder you want to play. push 'p'. woot

If you drill down into the folder, so you can see all the files in it, and start playing the top file then by default XBMC will play all the files in succession. There's an "Auto play next item" setting somewhere (Settings/Music I think) that controls this.

That only applies to music.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first.

mine however applies to both. of course the point was that you can substitute 'p' with whatever key you want, just monkey the keymapping (action is 'play' iirc)
