Lownoise / Noiseless Asrock ION 330

Why not disconnect the small fan and set the fan speed of the fan at the back al little bit higher. That what the airflow would still be present. The CPU has a heatsinkThe question is, will it be sufficient.

What temperature can the CPU handle?

Does anyone know of the AsRock mobo has a pci-e slot available?
Was wondering if one of the new Broadcom Crystal HD boards could fit in/on one.

installed a fanmate 2 and stuffed it inside the case (just enough room to squeeze it in at the back!)
it's running much quieter now (running the fan at lowest possible speed)

what temperatures are the CPU cores ?

I ran mine without the fan (disconnected it). The temperature got around 88 degrees. So I reconnected it Smile

13db

But expensive as h*ll.

To cancel the high pitch of the small fan, I isolated the fan and screws with plastic tape. See here for photo's.

You may want to be careful with pluging that in. It seems to be a 5V fan, while the original fan is a 12V fan. You'll have to get power from somewhere else and then pray it is quieter.

13 Db is a lot quieter then the stock fan. But i need to get some kind of adapter or install a resistor of some sort to lover the output to 5v..

Hi Guys,

My fist post here.
Wanted to let you know how i fixit my anoying sound problem.

I put a 50mm x 20mm fan instead of the standard high pitch 30mm one..

(I later replaced the fan with a 10mm model, more quiet).

I also bought cpu cooling paste , Arctic Silver 5. Works perfect.
My temperatures are all around 50 degrees now.

Oh, BTW: I had to remove the DVD player, because the fan is offcourse too large for the area, i had to cut out a square hole for the fan to stick out..

I am thinking of using what you suggested

http://uk.farnell.com/elina/hdf3010l...vdc/dp/3720421

and connect it to hdd power outlet, that's 5V no? Asrock supplied us with a hdd power plug, cut the wires off and use the plug. The yellow is missing, is that ground?

Alternatively, we could use this one

http://uk.farnell.com/elina/hdf3010l-12/...dp/3720433

but it is 19db

I was thinking more about putting i resistor/resistors on the cable and use a shrink tube on the cable. But i don't know what to use.

Dude that looks ugly! 10mm fan? don't you mean 50mm because that's what it looks like. If i was going to gut up my system like that i would have used a Fractal Design 40mm fan instead.
