Is it available for 64-bit linux? I only see one link and am at work so can't test.

Actually, does it even support video hardware acceleration for linux at all?

Quote:System Requirements
System requirements for platforms supported by Flash Player 10 are available at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplaye...ystemreqs/.
H.264 Video Hardware Acceleration Support
Flash Player 10.1 supports hardware decoding of H.264 video on Windows platforms when running with supported hardware. Use the following recommended hardware and driver combinations to experience hardware acceleration of H.264 videos in Flash Player 10.1. Unless otherwise noted, the following hardware will support H.264 hardware decoding with supported drivers under Windows XP 32-bit, Windows Vista (32/64-bit), and Windows 7 (32/64-bit).

From the release notes:

Quote:In Flash Player 10.1, H.264 hardware acceleration is not supported under Linux and Mac OS. Linux currently lacks a developed standard API that supports H.264 hardware video decoding, and Mac OS X does not expose access to the required APIs. We will continue to evaluate adding the feature to Linux and Mac OS in future releases.

Yeah, talk about a cop out. "There's no standardized API, so we're going to give libvdpau the finger." Thanks a lot. How about you release the source and see how long it takes before there's hardware acceleration in Linux? I'd give it until Friday.

Lightbulb
Supposedly improvements are being seen in general flash speed, and thus video speed, at least on the Mac side. This is despite not having hardware acceleration. It could be wrong, but is worth testing.

Under OS X the beta is doing wonders...

Lower processor consumption, lower memory usage - even the new 1080 HD videos on YouTube don't phase my MacBook any more...

I'd assume the same to be true in the Linux build - I know I'll be giving it a shot on my Acer Revo...
