i've spend some time with my wii and it's usb-loader.
here is a video which shows some very interesting cover-flow-technics.
espacially this turning-covers are very nice.

i know that the xbmc-skin-engine has no 3D in it.
but maybe some of this effects are interesting for other skinners...

Not sure if any one had seen this as a concept i made a while back, 3d dvd case inside xbmc. its a bit limited what you can do but works (i.e. flipping around so the back becomes the front is a no go since xbmc doesnt have animation z ordering).

Sorry, but I'd throw up if my XBMC interface looked/operated like that....way too cartoony.....the wii interface was made for animal planet kiddies...not a polished HTPC interface.
Board: Zotac ION-A-U Case: M350 Mini ITX Memory: 4GB Patriot PC6400 OS: XBMC on OpenELEC.tv build 6936 on a Corsair 32GB SSD Media Storage: W2K8 running on 14TB RAID 5 on an Asrock board w/ AMD Athlon X2 250 and PERC 6/I controller w/ 8 Samsung HD204UI Green drives Time to interface from power switch: 22.4 seconds.
