hi
i have been wondering that booting can be faster with multicore platforms. currently most linux distros run one program after another. but those programs don't use 2 or more cpu's. multiple cpus could be utilised by runing multiple number of programs equal to number of cpus. for example if you have 2 cores you could run 2 rograms simultanously. a program would have to be created that will start at the begining and detct number of cpus and direct the booting process.
what do you think of this ?
