arielgr Wrote:check what user XBMC is running under. You can do that by going to the file manager and clicking on home folder - then you should see the full path of your user home folder which would include the user... something like /home/xbmc ..

If you are not running as xbmc then you should apply the fix as I suggested in the other thread. If you are running as xbmc then you have another problem

mine definitely seems to be the same prob as yours, as my home folder is under ny normal username, not xbmc.

I might just do a brand new minimal ubuntu install and then use http://flx.me/xbmscript/ and see what happens. It's all new to me anyway so nothing ventured nothing gained.

Might have to pop home at lunchtime and give it a whirl. Will report back in an hour or so...

At home now, and all those settings already exist, so no joy for me.

Code:
polkit-auth: AuthorizationAlreadyExists: An authorization for uid 1000 for the action org.freedesktop.hal.power-management.suspend with constraint '' already exists

etc.

This might be more coincidental than causal but ...

I've been using the Alaska skin since I first installed XBMCLive and I've had issues with suspend as defined in this thread. Last night my wife told me she doesn't like the skin so I flicked it over to confluence and BAM, my suspend issues disappeared?? I then went back to Alaska and that is now working properly too?

I'm not saying it's the skin or skin(s) as I can't see any connection between the two areas, but I've tried every trick in the book over the last couple of days and nothing has worked until this, so I figured I'd just report back in case it spurs any "Eureka" moments and for anyone else having this issue to give it a go.

Confluence is awesome BTW Nod

This post explain what needs to be done I think (i haven't tried yet myself), as to where the script it stored don't know yet, will have a look in the usual places later - unless somebody else knows?

Edit - I think it will be here: /usr/bin/runXBMC.sh

finally got round to trying this, works perfectly for me.

XBMC now runs under my xbmc login (1001), if i understand the new runXBMC.sh correctly it tries to run under login 1000, which is the account created during install - fine if you use live as this will be your normal xbmc login, however if you used the xbmcbuntu method (as i did) it may be the login created during the minimal ubuntu install is not your xbmc login, as mine isn't!
