Hi all
Firstly, am new here, so really sorry if this is a stupid question.
Ran into this fantastic product a few weeks ago, and having just established a 'home' for all my pictures, movies, and music on my desktop PC, tried to 'stream' this content from there to a laptop on my internal home network.
Stats:
Windows 7 both pcs
My movies are stored on a 'shared' harddrive.
XBMC running on both pcs.
I am struggling. I just cannot manage to stream movies from my desktop. On the laptop, in movies, setting up a new source, I have tried every one of the choices, but the closest I have to actually finding content on my desktop is through the upnp option. If I select a film, it doesnt play.
I have checked my router, but honestly, am not sure what settings to tweak.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to run XBMC on the desktop in a special mode? Do I have to 'declare' to XBMC on the desktop where to obtain media for streaming?
Thanks
