i posted this here since its not actually an xbmc problem but is affecting all software players.
i am having an odd problem where I can not get 5.1 output from only certain sources. if i select analog stereo output, i get everything, but if i select 5.1 output via s/pdif i only get the surround channels (with no lfe or center). im not quite sure whats causing the problem nor am i really sure where to start looking...
i have VLC xbmc both doing the same thing and wmp11 will output stereo and nothing else.
i dont seem to be having any problems with 5.1 sound from an aac source that i have encoded using handbrake... does anyone have any idea where to start looking?
